We are seeking innovations in the application of civil engineering or materials in the following categories:

Category A: Road pavements from surface course to subgrade

Entries could include, but are not limited to, innovations in materials, components or processes used in:

*    Pavement design or construction

*    Asphalt innovations

*    Improve whole life performance

... etc

Category B: Other elements of road projects

Entries could include, but are not limited to, innovations in materials, components or processes used in:

*    Embankments, cuttings, bridges and tunnels

*    Drainage, barriers, lighting

... etc

Category C: Resilience, sustainability and waste reduction

Entries could include, but are not limited to, innovations in materials, components or processes associated with:

*    Use of low carbon/low energy products

*    Use of recycled materials

*    Use of distributed renewable energy generation

*    Supporting the transition to a circular economy

... etc

Category D: Health, safety and well-being

Entries could include, but are not limited to, innovations in materials, components or processes associated with:

*    Improving the safety of road users and/or road operatives during construction and maintenance work

*    Improving the safety of road users by reducing traffic incidents

*    Reducing the consequences of traffic incidents

... etc

Category E: Asset management and maintenance

Entries could include, but are not limited to, innovations in materials, components or processes associated with:

*    Improving the use of assets over their whole life cycle

*    Use of new materials that require less maintenance

*    Mechanisms that improve access to assets
